Convert PNG or JPG to PES — Free Online Converter
Got a logo, mascot, or drawing as a PNG or JPG? PES Maker separates it into color layers and generates a stitchable .PES embroidery file with underlay, fills, and outlines — right in your browser, free during beta.
How it works
Raster images don't contain shapes, so PES Maker detects the dominant colors in your image, builds a region mask for each color, and digitizes every region in three passes: a stabilizing underlay, a density-controlled fill, and a clean outline. Each color layer is matched to real thread catalogs — Brother, Janome, Husqvarna, Singer, Madeira Rayon, and Isacord — so you know exactly which spools to load.
Step by step
- Open the converter and upload your PNG or JPG (10 MB max).
- Pick your hoop — 4×4" to 8×12" or custom — and a density.
- Click Convert to PES, then inspect the stitch preview and thread list. Swap any color and re-convert if needed.
- Download your .PES file or use the link sent to your email.
Getting a clean stitch-out from an image
- Fewer colors = better. Flat-color art (logos, cartoons, clipart) digitizes far better than photos.
- High contrast helps. Distinct colors separate into clean layers; subtle shading gets merged.
- White backgrounds disappear automatically — near-white pixels are treated as fabric, not stitches.
- Prefer SVG when you have it — vector shapes give the crispest result. See converting SVG to PES.
