How to Convert SVG to PES — Free, in Your Browser

SVG is the ideal starting point for embroidery: it's vector art, so shapes, curves, and colors are exact. This guide shows you how to turn an SVG into a machine-ready .PES embroidery file in about a minute — no software to install, free during beta.

Step 1 — Upload your SVG

Open the converter and drop in your SVG (PNG and JPG work too). Files up to 10 MB are supported. Your artwork is previewed immediately so you can confirm it's the right design.

Step 2 — Pick hoop size and stitch density

Choose the hoop you'll actually sew in — 4×4", 5×7", 6×10", 8×12", or a custom size in millimeters. The design is scaled and centered automatically. Density controls how tightly fill rows are packed: higher for full coverage on stable fabric, lower for lighter fabrics or faster stitch-outs.

Step 3 — Convert and check the stitch preview

Click Convert to PES. In a few seconds you get a stitch-by-stitch preview next to your original, plus the detected thread colors matched to real catalogs (Brother, Madeira, Isacord and more). Gradients, compound shapes with holes, arcs, and grouped elements are all handled. Swap any thread color and re-convert if you want a different palette.

Step 4 — Download and sew

Download the .PES file (also sent to your email), copy it to a USB stick or transfer it to your machine, and sew. Files work on Brother, Babylock, Bernina, and anything else that reads PES.

Tips for the best results

• Simplify tiny details — anything narrower than a thread (~0.4 mm) won't read well in stitches.
• Use solid fills where you can; PES Maker converts gradients to a representative thread color.
• Match the hoop to the design: an 8×12" design squeezed into a 4×4" hoop loses detail.
• Sew a test on scrap fabric with stabilizer before the final piece — always.
